We are back to basics, pub people and we acquire broad-based community locals which have lost their way and which we can restore to their rightful position at the centre of community life by a combination of sympathetic refurbishment (inside and out, and always including the domestic accommodation), and most importantly, finding good people to run them.
The key point of difference for us is the support package we offer our tenants:
The First Difference
During refurbishment and the reopening stages we have access to a team of people working alongside our tenants, including consultants to assist with bar set up, stocking, merchandising, staff training, kitchen set up, menu planning and implementation. These people are experienced operators who have run their own businesses and are practical in their approach. The level of support you require is to a great extent up to you and will depend on your level of experience and expertise. What’s more, they are fully funded by Newport.
The Second Difference
Regular business meetings at your pub underpin our ongoing support for our tenants. We regard our tenants as business partners and we look to have regular and open discussions about turnover levels, overheads and margins, as well as planning and implementing promotions and marketing activities. This helps us to keep a close eye on your business, and it helps us to find out early if any element of your business is going off track. We will always step in and try to help if there is a problem; you can ask us about any aspect of your business and we can tell you what we would do, and you can decide whether to use or reject our advice.
